Working as a contractor upon returning from California for 25 years and completing many residential, commercial and industrial projects in Western Massachusetts. During those years I became a Massachusetts licensed Electrician, Plumber, Construction Supervisor, Sheet metal worker and Oil burner technician.
Following the years of contracting I opted to enter the world of Electrical inspecting where I worked as Inspector of Wires for the City of Northampton for 17 years. I currently am considered an alternate inspector for the City.
In addition to inspecting I became an instructor of apprentices for IBEW Local 7 for Nine years. I also started teaching continuing education classed for the State of Massachusetts with Ed Marchefka. Later I became a provider of continuing education for electricians in the States of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island.
Today I continue to teach with Paul Asselin as we share the same philosophy. That being to provide quality education for electricians who require mandatory education for license renewal.
Paul A. Asselin

Continued working at Elm Electrical thru the Co-op program as an apprentice electrician. Worked thru the apprenticeship program at Elm Electrical, passed Journeyman exam, Master exam and currently hold the title of Service General Manager at Elm Electrical Inc.
Currently the wiring inspector in the Town of Russell Massachusetts, Provider #419 for continuing education for electricians, the Secretary for the Western Massachusetts Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, trainer for OSHA 10 and 30 hour courses, and advisory committee chairman of the Westfield Vocational High School Electrical Wiring Program. Currently hold a Master Electricians License in Nine States. Past President of the Westfield Rotary Club 2006-2007 Started working for the Gould Construction institute in 2001 when the electrical program was started at Springfield Technical Community College. I enjoy sharing knowledge with apprentices with the hope of making them better mechanics and technicians. I enjoy sharing both my successes and failures to help guide them in a successful carrier in the trades. This experience with the Gould Construction Institute has made me more technical in both code and theory. There is no better feeling than running into a passed student and have them thank you for your help and guidance when they were a student and to listen at how successful they have become.
“Just a word of thanks for the code update session you put together at the six Flags facility last week. My son Scott and I really enjoyed your program. You and George did a thorough job of presenting and the many updates that have been made to the code.” -Ken L.
